- Social media can often be described as many people talking to loudly, trying to get the most in edgewise
- Resist the urge to simply repeat information and comment on everything
- Only comment on the issues that you are passionate about
I am a big believer in the third highlight; that is, only comment on the issues you are passionate about. This is nothing new and a major component for most successful entrepreneurs; follow your passion!
I personally have gone somewhat off the deep end with my blogging about domain names; but again I am following my passion so it is easy for me to blog about the topic. And sure enough, there are people (LOTS) reading the blog and when I get comments from well-known domainers, I am very humble and shocked that they are reading my blog….but you never know as it is always about the content!
Don’t just pick any topic to talk about. Choose one you are passionate about. Unless you care deeply about an issue, it’s unlikely your thoughts will be interesting and engaging enough for people to pay attention.
